Surprise! Gaming Adulterers Prefer Young Girls, Fast Cars, and Hot Coffee
Video games and dating sites may not always go hand-in-hand, but when they do… Well, sometimes people get hurt. Ashley Madison, a dating site that specifically targets people looking to cheat on their significant others, polled a few of their gaming-minded male members — about 10,000 of them — and asked the one question they probably never thought they’d answer on that site; “What’cha been playing?”
According to the survey, these are top ten games being played by men cheating on their wives and girlfriends in 2012:
Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Call of Duty: Black Ops II
Fifa 2013
Forza Horizon
Resident Evil 6
Far Cry 3
Hitman Absolution
Halo 4
Medal of Honor: Warfighter
Assassin’s Creed III
Based on this list, adulterers apparently like the same things most gamers do: Four of the top ten games were first-person shooters, for example. They don’t seem to have fantastic taste, though… Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Resident Evil 6, and Assassin’s Creed III made the top ten, despite their middling to poor critical reception.
The biggest surprise (or not) is the game at the top of the heap. Need for Speed: Most Wanted bested Black Ops II, the most popular game on the planet, for the title of “game most played by cheating bastards.” Most Wanted isn’t the only racer on the list, either. Forza: Horizon managed to crack the top five as well, definitively proving once and for all that people who like racing games are terrible human beings.
As for what they plan to play next, the game most male Ashley Madison users are looking forward to is… (Drumroll, please) GTA V. Considering that it will likely combine everything these guys seem to love, namely guns, cars, and sex, it’s pretty much a no-brainer. Other than Grand Theft Auto, the philanderers were most interested in Tomb Raider. Despite the upcoming game’s gritty new look, the sex appeal of a younger, more vulnerable Lara Croft is simply irresistible to men stuck in loveless marriages.
So remember, folks; before you accuse your gamer-spouse of cheating, make sure to take a examine their video game collection.
